Iconic Indian boxer MC Mary Kom has stated that she has not yet retired after reports about her retirement circulated on the internet on Thursday.

Dear friends in the media, “I have not announced my retirement yet, and I have been misquoted,” the Manipur boxer stated. She added, “I would personally appear in front of the media whenever I wish to announce it, she continued”. She said, “I read some media reports claiming that I had declared my retirement, which is incorrect, the 41-year-old clarified”.
On January 24, 2024, I was motivating youngsters at a school event in Dibrugarh. I remarked, “I still have a hunger to achieve in sports, but the age limit in the Olympics does not allow me to participate, though I can carry on with my sport.”
I am still working on my fitness, and when I announce my retirement, I will notify everyone. Please rectify this, the Olympic medalist stated.
