SRH vs RR: The Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) witnessed the SunRisers Hyderabad take on the Rajasthan Royals in a do-or-die clash which will see the winner set a final date with the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 26.

RR Bowlers Restrict SRH To 175/9

Put to bat first, the SunRisers Hyderabad looked forward to another blazing innings on the night. Openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma did try to give SRH a good start but it was the lethal Trent Boult who despite getting hit for a six and a boundary in the first few balls, went on to dismiss Abhishek Sharma in the first over.

Trent Boult once again took a wicket for him in the very first over in the IPL, taking his record in the opening over to 29 wickets.

Travis Head on on the other end, started steadily but was later sent back to the pavilion on 34 runs courtesy of a Sandeep Sharma delivery. Boult also took Rahul Tripathi’s wicket whose 15-ball 37 kept the SunRisers in the hunt for a good total in their 20 overs.

Avesh Khan stepped in with his spell for RR as well and managed to take both Nitish Reddy and Abdul Samad on back-to-back deliveries in the 14th over, leaving SRH struggling at 120/6 at the end of the 14th over.

In the end, it was Heinrich Klaasen’s fiery fifty and Shahbaz Ahmed’s 18-run cameo that steered the team to a respectable total of 175/9. Trent Boult and Avesh Khan ended their spells with 3 scalps each on the night as it was the bowlers who remained on top in the 1st innings.
