Dale Steyn from Hyderabad disclosed to ESPNcricinfo reporters that they consider Umran Malik’s performance in IPL 2025 to be fading away. According to Steyn, Malik should shift his attention from fast bowling to precise line and length delivery techniques. According to him, you must not use all gears on your Ferrari just like you do not need to deploy all pace options with pace bowlers. A fast bowler requires skill to determine the appropriate situations for employing his speed effectively.
The former legendary fast bowler further said, “I think Malik was focusing too much on fast bowling. Sometimes, a player gets stuck in a moment. 60,000 fans are cheering his name. Seeing all this, he felt that he could bowl at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. He got trapped in this temptation.”
“Bowlers should control their pace and be smart. A few bad matches and you’re out of the team. After one season, no franchise picks you. A bowler should use his pace correctly and use it effectively”, Steyn added.

He entered international cricket by playing 10 ODIs and 8 T20Is where he accumulated 24 wickets. A change of fortune occurred in 2023 when coaching staff decided to release him from the team roster.
