Match 9 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) saw Rajasthan Royals take home their 2nd consecutive win in the league courtesy of a brilliant performance with both bat and ball at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on March 28. RR beat Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals by 12 runs on the night.

Put to bat first, Rajasthan didn’t look confident as the top 3 were dismissed at a collective total of just 31 runs in the beginning. RR were left struggling at 36/3 at 7.2 overs.

Parag hit the returning Anrich Nortje for 25 runs in the last over which lifted the crowd off their chairs to appreciate his innings. His innings consisted of 7 fours and 6 sixes.

Delhi lose 2 in 2

In reply, it was David Warner who took the initiative at the very beginning and helped in Delhi’s cause with a gritty 49.

Skipper Rishabh Pant who was playing his 100th match for the Delhi Capitals got sent back to the pavilion at just 28 courtesy of a Yuzvendra Chahal delivery.

Chahal went on to pick 2 scalps on the night, dismissing Rishabh Pant and Abishek Porel for his side.

Tristan Stubbs’ fiery 44*-run cameo was not enough as Delhi fell to their 2nd consecutive defeat in IPL 2024. For Rishabh Pant’s men, it was back to the drawing room to try and get themselves a win the next time they took the pitch in the tournament.
