RR vs KKR: The final match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) league stage was called off as rain played spoilsport in Guwahati as the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders had to share the spoils at the Barsapara Stadium on May 19.

The match being called off means that Rajasthan Royals will be finishing at the 3rd spot, behind Kolkata and Hyderabad, and will be facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the eliminator tie of the playoffs.

The scenario was similar to the recent matches as the toss was delayed due to constant rain in Guwahati. However, the difference was that the rain seemed to have stopped before the cutoff time which allowed the umpires to inspect the field and resume proceedings for a 7-over game on the night.

However, while the fans were excited after knowing the fact that the play would finally start, the rain gods didn’t do any further favour for Rajasthan as the showers continued yet again.

The top four spots have now been finalized with Kolkata Knight Riders finishing as league leaders. They were followed by SunRisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The next match on May 21 will feature KKR take on SRH for a place in the IPL 2024 final.
