If we take a look at all the world-class pacers over the years, one thing that is visibly common in them is their athletic stature and swift movements. All elite athletes have a strict diet they follow to function at their highest levels whenever they take the field. One such upcoming athlete in the name of Mayank Yadav who has bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2024, has a rare diet which he started following a few years ago.

Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, has been impressing fans with his remarkable bowling performances. His ability to bowl express deliveries exceeding 150 km/h has played a significant role in Lucknow’s success in the ongoing T20 league. However, what’s the secret behind his exceptional pace?

Mayank Yadav’s Diet

According to his mother Mamta Yadav, Mayank has transitioned to a vegetarian diet over the past few years, having previously consumed non-vegetarian food. While Mamta isn’t fully aware of the reasons behind his decision, she mentioned two possible factors. Firstly, Mayank’s belief in Lord Krishna may have influenced his dietary choices, and secondly, he felt that non-vegetarian food was no longer suitable for his body.

“Mayank has just turned vegetarian. Earlier, he used to eat non-veg food. He has been eating vegetarian food for the last 2 years. Whatever he has been asking us to make, based on his diet chart, we would make for him. He wouldn’t eat anything special, dal, roti, rice, milk, veggies, etc,” Mayank’s mother said.

“He said that non-veg food wasn’t suiting his body much. He told us about two reasons. First was he started to believe in Lord Krishna, that could be one of the reasons too. We didn’t force him to reveal why he quit non-veg food. He said whatever I was doing, was good for his game and his body,” Mayank’s mother revealed.

During their conversation, Mamta expressed optimism about her son’s future and his potential debut in the Indian cricket team. Given Mayank’s impressive performances in the IPL, several former cricketers have advocated for his inclusion in the national squad, with some even suggesting that he could represent India in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to commence in June.
