LSG vs CSK: Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) witnessed the Lucknow Super Giants host defending champions Chennai Super Kings at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on April 19.

CSK Manage To Post 176/6

Put to bat first, Chennai Super Kings did not get off to a great start with the opener Rachin Ravindra getting dismissed for a duck courtesy of a brilliant Mohsin Khan delivery in the 2nd over itself. His opening partner Ajinky Rahane did get his innings going on the night but was eventually sent back to the pavilion on 36 runs.

Hard hitters Shivam Dube and Samir Rizvi also couldn’t make their mark in the match as both batters were dismissed at quick intervals by LSG bowlers. It was Ravindra Jadeja who helped CSK put some much-needed runs on the board with his 40-ball 57*.

Krunal Pandya helped LSG take control of the innings in the middle and ended his spell with 2 wickets on the night. The Pacers also bowled pretty well and helped the hosts maintain a low strike rate from the visitors.

Moeen Ali also supported Jadeja’s gritty fifty with a 30-run knock which consisted of maximums as well. The duo stitched up a 50-run partnership at Ekana to help Chennai push for a good total in the end.

Then came the moment for which the whole crowd was waiting, MS Dhoni entered the scene with 2 overs left to play. Thala started to do what he does best. Hitting a boundary and a six from his first three balls, Dhoni looked in fine form yet again. His 28*-run cameo in the end powered the visitors to 176/6 which seemed like a healthy total on this track.
