CSK Vs GT

In the first match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans since the dramatic 2023 final, Rachin Ravindra provided a strong start for Chennai Super Kings after Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. Gaikwad mentioned at the toss that they have decided to bring in Matheesha Pathirana, with Mahesh Theekshana likely to be introduced later as an impact substitute.

Rachin Ravindra capitalized on the powerplay but narrowly missed out on a half-century, getting dismissed by Rashid Khan for 46 off 20 balls in the second ball of the last over of the powerplay. Following Ravindra’s dismissal, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad also departed after scoring 46 runs off 36 deliveries.

Dube Powers CSK to 200+ Total

Shivam Dube continued to display his aggressive batting prowess, appearing as dangerous as ever on the field with the bat. The lanky southpaw smashed the Titans bowlers to different parts of Chepauk.

Sameer Rizvi walked in to bat ahead of seasoned campaigners like MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja, making his IPL debut and carrying the weight of an INR 8.4 crore deal. Facing Rashid Khan, widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest T20 bowlers, Rizvi didn’t hesitate to play his shots, sweeping Rashid for a six straight away. It was a remarkable display of skill and confidence, as he scored 14 runs off Rashid’s over. Rizvi had showcased his talent in the Uttar Pradesh T20 league, but to replicate it at the IPL level was truly incredible!

Star all rounder Raveindra Jadeja trie his bit in the end but failed to take the CSK total to 210. A brilliant display of death bowling by former CSK star Mohit Sharma halted their innings on 206 runs.
