Cricket fans will witness an emotional farewell from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Dinesh Karthik as he gears up for his final Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2024. The 38-year-old veteran wicket-keeper batter is set to mark the end of an illustrious era as he takes the field at Chepauk, his home ground, to face defending champions Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 opener on March 23rd.

Dinesh Karthik holds a unique record in the IPL, having participated in every season since its inception in 2008, making him one of the seven players with such longevity. His IPL journey includes stints with six different franchises, showcasing his adaptability and commitment. Starting with Delhi Daredevils, he later played for Kings XI Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and currently with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Throughout his consistent presence, Karthik has missed only two matches, highlighting his unwavering dedication to the league.

As per ESPNcricinfo, the upcoming 2024 season will mark the end of Karthik’s IPL playing career.
