Delhi Bowlers On Top

Deciding to bat first, KL Rahul’s side didn’t get off to a great start as opener Quinton de Kock saw his wicket lost quite cheaply courtesy of a Khaleel Ahmed delivery. Despite KL Rahul (39) holding his end, Delhi bowlers didn’t stop piling on the pressure on the home side and took wickets at regular intervals.

Kuldeep Yadav, who made a return to the starting eleven alongside Mukesh Kumar, led the bowling lineup with 3 wickets on his return. Mukesh too, got one scalp to his name as Lucknow saw themselves struggling at 94/7 at 13 overs. Khaleel Ahmed, whose two early wickets left LSG clueless came back to complete his spell in the end and finished with good figures of 2/41 in his 4 overs.

Ayush Badoni’s blazing 55*-run cameo, in the end, helped Lucknow Super Giants set a 168-run target for Delhi Capitals.

Arshad Khan and Ayush Badoni’s 73-run partnership is now the highest 8th wicket stand in the history of the tournament.

With Delhi placed at the bottom of the league table, Rishabh Pant and co. will be looking to capitalize on the night and get their 2nd win of the season to restore some hope of making it to the playoffs in the future.
