New Delhi: Rajasthan Royal started their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign on a winning note as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by thumping 72 runs victory at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.
Chahal picks up four wicket
Chasing a target of 204 runs, SRH were restricted to 131/8 in 20 overs, with Yuzvendra Chahal taking four wickets, while Trent Boult took two.

Yuzvendra Chahal cleaned Harry Brook with a short of length delivery. Brook wanted to cut it on the off side but such was not the length and a wrong judgement from the batter saw the ball crashing onto the stumps.
Yuzvendra Chahal struck again and dismissed Mayank Agarwal for 27. Agarwal tried to go for a big hit, with a slogsweep but Jos Buttler spoiled the plan as he took a brilliant catch at the long-off and SRH lost their sixth wicket in the chase.
Yuzvendra Chahal carnage does not halted as he picked up his fourth wicket, this time he scalped Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 6. A simple flat delivery from Chahal, rattled up Bhuvi’s stumps as SRH lost their eighth wicket. Wrong judgement by Bhuvi as he tried to go for a big hit.

Jos Buttler quick-fire fifty
England’s hard hitting batter Jos Buttler showed no mercy to the Bhuvneshwar Kumar-led bowling attack as he registered quick-fire fifty. Buttler played 54 runs knock off 22 bowls, he dealt only in sixes and fours. The 32-year-old batter reached his half-century at the strike rate of 245.45.

Sanju Samson’s innings
Captain Sanju Samson on the other side hold his ground and he ramped to hit over Glenn Phillips’ head behind for a boundary. A pugnacious touch on the backfoot followed for successive fours in the over of Umran Malik.
After that, Samson pushed the length delivery to the covers for a single. That brought up the 18th IPL fifty for the Rajasthan Royals skipper.
