Mumbai’s back-to-back win

After the disappointing start of the tournament Mumbai Indians finally got their rhythm as they first defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6-wickets and today they trashed Kolkata by 5-wicket to register their back-to-back win.

Rohit-Ishan give perfect start

Chasing the huge target of 186, Mumbai Indians regular skipper Rohit Sharma came as a impact players gave the superb start to the team. Sharma alongside Ishan Kishan shared the  65 runs stand before the latter was picked up by Suyash Sharma for 20 runs off 13 balls.

Then Ishan scored blistering fifty before he was removed for 58 runs by Varun Chakravarthy. Captain Suryakumar Yadav then joined hands with Tilak Verma as the pair added 60 runs for the third wicket and swung the momentum into Mumbai’s favour. Tim David slammed an unbeaten 24 off 13 deliveries as Mumbai completed the run chase with 2.2 overs to spare.

KKR’s batting

Earlier, Venkatesh Iyer hammered his first IPL ton, before he was removed for 104 off 51 balls. He came into crease after KKR lost Jagadeesan for 0. However, he maintained an attacking approach and completed his half-century in 23 balls and then touched the triple digit mark in 49 balls.
