New Delhi: In the first encounter of Sunday’s double header, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horn against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH look better the side then last year and will aiming toward better start of the season at their home crowd.

SRH’s new season, new captain

There are lot of the changes in the squad of the orange army as they appointed Aiden Markram as their skipper. They also added Mayank Agarwal in their squad and man yet to debut England’s fearless striker Harry Brook.

However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the team against RR in their opening campaign because Markram is not available due national duty. SRH, will be hoping to make strong comeback after they finished at 8th position in the previous year edition.

RR IPL 2022 journey

On the other hand, Royals finished their 2022 campaign on the second position after they eventually lost to Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final. They first faced GT in the qualifier 1 and lost the match, but due 2nd position benefits they faced Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the qualifier 2 and and defeated them. With this win, RR raced toward the final with GT and again they faced defeat.

Head-to-head

Both sides have faced each other 16 times in the IPL, with SRH winning on eight occasions, and RR coming out on top eight times too. In Hyderabad, they have faced each other three times, with SRH winning thrice.
