“Great thought by the franchise to bring the IPL here. The players are loving it here,” Sanju Samson, RR skipper.
“I wanted to bowl first as well, because of the dew factor. Even now we can see that there’s some dew,” says Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan.
RR on roll
Royals will be returning on the ground after the thumping victory against Sunsrisers Hyderabad (SRH). A win today will take RR on the top of the table due to massive run rate. The former champions started the tournament on a high note with all the department looks dominating. They have red-hot form Yashasvi Jaiswal, England’s white-ball hard hitting skipper Jos Buttler, and a commanding captain Sanju Samson. Their top-order is in terrific form and can dominate any bowling line-up in the tournament.
With ball they have Yuzvendra Chahal, who scalped 4 wickets in tournament opener for them and New Zealand’s pacer Trent Bolt also picked 2 wickets.
PBKS team previous performance
On the other hand, Punjab Kings will also be high on confidence as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mohali by DLS method. They also have action packed playing XI, with Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored fifty each in previous encounter. After that they also have England’s all-rounder Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan.
