New Delhi: After losing their first match by 5 wickets from Gujarat Titans (GT), MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made terrific comeback at their den, Chepauk’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. The yellow army defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 12 runs.
CSK’s solid start
CSK’s openers Ruturaj Gaikwad (57 in 31) and Devon Conway (47 in 29) added 110 runs in 9.1 overs and though LSG made a slight comeback in the middle overs, MS Dhoni gave the perfect finish to his team, by hitting Mark Wood for two back-to-back sixes in the final over of innings before getting out on the third ball he faced, as CSK posted 217/7.
LSG tries but fail
In the reply, LSG opener Kyle Mayers scored another fifty on 22-ball 52 and some late firework from Nicholas Pooran, and K Gowtham, LSG could only assembled 205/7 in 20 overs, with Moeen Ali being the pick of CSK bowlers with 4/26 and lost the match by 12 runs.
