New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) right-arm pacer Yudhvir Singh Charak made an impressive start of his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Ekana Sport City on Saturday, April 15.

Yudhvir debut for LSG

Yudhvir Singh opened the bowling attack for KL Rahul-led LSG, as they were defending 159-run against Sam Curran-led PBKS. Yudhvir gave LSG their first breakthrough as he removed another debutant Atharva Taide for a three-ball duck. Yudhvir then returned for his second over and he then send back Punjab’s impact player and opener Prabhsimran Singh for 4.

Yudhvir wickets highlights

A duck on debut is what Taide got, Yudhvir got a wicket in the first over on his LSG debut. Prabhsimran had hit the first ball of the third for four and then Yudhvir came back with a full one that sharply jagged back into the right-hander after pitching. Prabhsimran missed it entirely and the off pole went cartwheeling.

Yudhvir IPL journey

The 25-year-old all-rounder from Jammu has been roped with IPL since 2020, when was a net bowler for Mumbai Indians (MI). Mumbai latter then bought the youngster for his base price of INR 50 lakh in the 2021 auction. Meanwhile, Yudhvir does not got any chance to play for Mumbai franchise.

Yudhvir domestic career

In the December 2022 auction, LSG then bought him for his base price of INR 20 lakh. Yudhvir made his domestic cricket debut with Hyderabad in the 2019-20 season. The Jammu’s seamer has since played for J&K and has in total featured in four First-Class games, picking up three wickets.

While he has 13 wickets from 14 List A matches, Yudhvir only had four wickets from 14 T20s ahead of his IPL debut for LSG.
