The standout performances for Royal Challengers Bengaluru came from their top-order batsmen. Faf du Plessis, the captain, led from the front with a brilliant knock of 61 runs off just 40 deliveries, at a striking rate of 152.50. He was well supported by Rajat Patidar who also made a significant contribution with the bat, scoring a quickfire 50 runs off 26 deliveries
Despite a few quick dismissals, including that of Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik’s unbeaten knock of 53 runs off 23 balls provided the late surge RCB needed to reach a competitive total.
