The India women’s national hockey team has secured a place in the final of the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024. The Indian women’s hockey team led by Salima Tete registered a 2-0 win against Japan in the semi-final of the tournament. Navneet Kaur and Lalremsiami scored goals for the Indian women’s team which helped them secure a victory over Japan. India are now just one win away from securing second consecutive Women’s Asian Champions Trophy titles.

The Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 semifinal started on an aggressive note when Indian drag flicker Navneet Kaur achieved a goal in the fourth minute with a penalty corner. The Indian team was able to maintain the lead and showcased brilliant defence against the Japanese team. In the end, Lalremsiami scored in the 56th minute of the match to consolidate Team India’s lead which later proved to be the final result of the match and they were able to win the clash by 2-0.

The Indian women’s hockey team will now face China in the finals of the tournament who defeated Malaysia by a margin of 3-1. The Indian team has already defeated China in the group stages and will look forward to repeat the performance once again. However, it willn’t be an easy task for the Indian women’s team as China are the silver medalist of the Paris Olympics 2024.
