India displayed great batting strength in the first innings of the 2nd Test match, after the hosts won the toss and invited the guests to bat. Openers Rohit Sharma (57) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (80) gave India a solid start, which was followed by Virat Kohli’s masterclass (121) knock, that ended his 4-years overseas Test century drought.

Virat Kohli’s masterclass knock

It was Virat Kohli who grabbed the eyeballs of the spectators in his landmark 500th international match for India. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also showed his batting prowess and stitched 100 plus stand with Kohli. Jadeja hammered his half-century knock (61 off 152).

Pitch report Day 4

The 4th day pitch of IND vs. WI is not the devil for hitters. It is a very difficult road surface for hitters. Bowlers have to work hard to take wickets. Bowling the line from wicket to wicket is an ideal choice to prevent the batter from scoring points too soon.

The outside of the off-stamp line has some wear that can pose a threat to hitters. Things might be a little different for the oddball as we get closer to the backend for the second test of IND vs. WI.
