New Delhi: Team India are preparing themselves for the 2nd and final Test match against the West Indies, that will begin on Thursday, July 20, at the Queen’s Oval Park in Trinidad. After commendable victory in the first Test match at Dominica, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to continue their dominance over the host.

The ‘Men in Blue’ received longer break then expected as they wrapped the 1st Test match in just 3 days. The Rohit Sharma-led team started their new World Test Championship (WTC) on winning note and are on lookout for complete whitewash.

This is India’s last red ball assignment, after this the momentum will shift toward the One Day International (ODI) due to World Cup, that is scheduled in October-November window. India will play their next Test match against South Africa that will take place in December-January.

Team India hit nets session

Captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid expressed their positive mindset and they are applying finishing touch. Team India were seen sweating in the net as they prepare themselves for the next encounter.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave some snapshots of India’s preparing on their Twitter handle.

Batter Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli all hit nets, while bowlers Jaydev Unadkat, Mukesh Kumar and Mohammed Siraj kept them busy. The trio of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini were also seen sharing a laugh on the sidelines.

500th Test match for Virat Kohli

The upcoming Test match mark the 100th Test matches between the India and West Indies. The 2nd Test match is also special for Virat Kohli. The India’s talismanic batter will be playing his 500th international match for the nation. Virat is only fourth batter in India to do so after batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, former Indian captain MS Dhoni and current head coach Rahul Dravid.
