World’s no.1 Test side looks to dominate the host, but West Indies can give some surprise due to home advantage. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has send their best squad to face the Islander.

West Indies last played the red ball cricket against the Temba Bavuma’s South Africa. The 2 matches Test series was played in March, earlier this year. Kraigg Brathwaite’s side suffered heavy defeat in both the matches.

On the other hand, India faced Pat Cummins’ led side Australia in the WTC final at the Lords. Men in Blue displayed poor playing strategy and lost 2 consecutive WTC final.

Pitch report

The average scores of the venue suggest that the team batting second have scored the most runs. Plus the teams chasing in the final innings have mostly chased small targets. Both spinners and pacers have even share of wickets.

The pitch help quicker bowlers on the first day and getting easier to bat on days 2 and 3. On the final two days of the Test spinner can help the team.
