New Delhi: Indian opener Shubman Gill continues his domination with the bat. After displaying his terrific form in 1st One Day International (ODI) against New Zealand at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
The 23-year old batter who was preferred over Ishan Kishan as the opener along side Rohit Sharma. Kishan who scored fastest double century against Bangladesh, was batting at middle order. Gill regained his opening slot after he played vital role of holding the innings of Rohit Sharma’s side.
Fastest to reach 1000 runs in ODI
The young lad became the fastest batter to reach the 1000 runs mark in ODI cricket. While Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan reached their 1,000 runs mark at 24 innings. Gill on the other hand reached this milestone in just 19 innings.

Gill gave solid start to Indian team
Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma shared 60-runs opening partnership and gave men in blue a strong start against Kiwi in first ODI. After that Rohit was caught and wickets keeps falling. But Gill anchored the Indian innings and completed his 3rd hundred in 30th over of the first innings.
Opener Gill has played 19 ODIs, 13 Tests and 3 T20Is for Team India. The 23-year-old made his international debut against the same opponent (New Zealand) at Seddon Park back in 2019.
