India’s star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal completed yet another fifty, but England’s off-spinner Shoaib Bashir created difficulties for India, leaving them at 131 for 4 in their first innings by tea on day two. Jaiswal has now become the first Indian left handed batter in Test history to score 600 runs in a series.
With 600 runs in this series, Jaiswal is way ahead of other batters in the series with no other batter scoring even 300 runs so far.
The session commenced with Shubman Gill confidently hitting boundaries off Bashir and James Anderson. Jaiswal continued his strong performance, hitting Bashir for a six, surviving a close catch opportunity off Ollie Robinson.

Despite Gill and Jaiswal’s partnership of 82 runs, Gill was dismissed lbw by Bashir. Rajat Patidar contributed with quick boundaries but was later dismissed lbw by Bashir. Ravindra Jadeja hit consecutive sixes before falling to Bashir. India will look to Jaiswal and Sarfaraz to rescue them from their current predicament.
