Tom Moody, former Australia cricketer, believes Travis Head will approach cautiously when facing Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2024 Final between KKR and SRH on May 26 in Chennai. Moody noted that Head has had some struggles against Starc’s bowling in the T20 format and will likely adjust his approach accordingly.

Travis Head To Be Wary Of Starc Ahead Of IPL Final

Despite Head’s strong batting form in IPL 2024, he faced a setback in the Qualifier 1 match against KKR, being dismissed by Starc for a duck. While Head has amassed 567 runs in 14 matches, his recent performances in the playoffs have been lackluster, with a slow 34 against RR adding to his challenges.

“I think Travis Head will be a little bit more cautious against Mitchell Starc. I think there has been a strong enough pattern in how he has got out in a very similar way. I think he may slightly adjust to how he looks at the first over. But outside of that, I think it will be business as usual,” Moody said.

“Both Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head will go hard at the KKR attack. I think the more interesting part of the game will come when the spinners come into play and how they deal with it,” Moody added.

Moody suggested that Head might alter his style of play to counter Starc’s threat in the Final. Interestingly, Starc has previously dismissed Head four times across all formats, with the Qualifier 1 clash marking the fifth instance.
