Rohit Sharma dismissed recent media reports suggesting that he had a private discussion with selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar and head coach Rahul Dravid regarding the T20 World Cup 2024 selection. He urged fans to disregard such speculation and rumors. Additionally, Rohit chuckled at the idea of himself and Virat Kohli forming the opening partnership during the upcoming World Cup, scheduled to commence on June 1 in the USA and the West Indies.

Rohit Sharma light-heartedly addressed the media speculation about team selection by joking that Ajit Agarkar seemed to be busy playing golf in Dubai, while head coach Rahul Dravid was focused on giving his sons cricket training on a red soil pitch in Mumbai.

Hitman clarified the situation by stating that he hadn’t met with anyone regarding team selection. He humorously mentioned that Ajit Agarkar was off playing golf in Dubai, while Rahul Dravid was in Mumbai watching his son play and even got him to practice on a red soil wicket at the Cricket Club of India. He shared this during a conversation with Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan on the latest episode of the Club Prairie Fire Podcast.

“We haven’t met, to be honest. In today’s day and age, unless you hear it from either myself, Rahul himself, Ajit himself, or someone from the BCCI coming and talking in front of the camera, everything is fake,” Rohit added.

Discussion About Hardik and Kohli

Some media outlets reported on Wednesday that Rohit Sharma had supposedly met with Ajit Agarkar and Rahul Dravid in April to discuss various selection issues, including the importance of Hardik Pandya consistently bowling in IPL 2024. These reports also suggested that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were slated to open for India in the T20 World Cup.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
