New Delhi: In another unexpected moment of the ongoing T20 World Cup, Netherlands defeated cricket giants South Africa. It wasn’t a mere defeat for the Proteas, but can be called a huge blow. It crushed their chances of sailing into the semi-finals and have kicked them out of the tournament.
There were many moments of the surprise and shock during the game, when Netherlands first presented brilliant composure with the bat and then have inspirational bowling performance. It was the bowling and fielding of the Netherlands that had caused South Africa lose by 13 runs.

The game changing moment of the game was when David Miller was dismissed for 17 runs. Brandon Glover was incharge of 16th over and Miller lifted the shot up but there wasn’t enough length to it. At the same time, Van de Merwe was standing with full wit of the dismissing him. He ran towards the boundary to get an unbelievable catch.
Temba Bavuma ‘very disappointed’ with defeat
Winning by 13 runs, Netherlands registered themselves one of the biggest wins of their career. South Africa captain Temab Bavuma had nothing but to be ‘very disappointed.’
In the post-match press-conference, Bavuma said, “ Very disappointing. We really played well before this game. We knew it was a must-win game and again we faltered when it mattered. Hard one to swallow for the guys. We had the confidence and the belief to get to the knockouts. You can pick out a lot of things when you lose that way.”
