New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has suffered ankle injury and has been ruled out Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. His absence cam make huge difference in the performance of the team as he has shown brilliant form so far. 

While playing against Railways in Rajkot, he scored an unbeaten 62 runs off 31 balls and he was expected to continue this thrilling form.

However, his ankle injury has caused to leave the tournament and will not be able to play any game further. 

Venkatesh Iyer gutted to miss out of tournament

After being ruled out of the tournament, Venkatesh Iyer took to Instagram and wrote, “Gutted to be missing out on the remainder of the SMAT due to a broken ankle. Hope to be back on the field soon. Will be rooting for my MP boys from the sidelines. Keep the positive vibes going @mpcacricket Do keep sending your wishes and love.”

 Venkatesh Iyer and his participation in T20 World Cup 2021

In the last year, Iyer had proved himself to be a significant asset for the team. After the brilliant performance in IPL 2021 for Kolkata Knight Riders, he had got himself a place in T20 World Cup 2021 squad.
