Ashwin’s comeback in T20 World Cup

After a dramatic comeback in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Ravichandran Ashwin, once against showcase his magical spell in the shortest format of the game. However, his return to the 50-over format, specially to the World Cup this year is still a debatable topic.

‘Time of India’ quoted Ashwin as saying, “I don’t think like that, because the selection of the team is not my job.

Ashwin not in selector’s list

“I decided a long time ago not to think about things that are out of my control. To be honest, I am in very good shape with my life and cricket and I don’t let negativity into my thought process,” Ashwin added.

The 36 year-old spinner said he had achieved everything in cricket and left nothing unfinished. But Ashwin wants India to win the World Cup again at home. “I’m living day to day and I have nothing left to do, but it’s true that I would love to see India win the World Cup again even if I’m not playing,” said the legend.

“I think you’re combining two things. I didn’t think about retiring because of the injury. Maybe that’s part of the reason, I’m not an expert on my body, so how do I recover? I was uncertain about my career and just thought so,” Star Spinner explained.

The right-handed off-spinner, India’s most popular test-format bowler, spoke of his form and experience with the game.

“There was a time when I thought it was so easy to think negative things and probably never get out of that state. It was just a thought and I want to make it clear. But now I am bowling and batting. I feel like I’m very good at this and have a lot of experience with kittens,” Ashwin signed off.
