New Delhi: BCCI has finally announced that Mohammad Shami has replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 World Cup.
The announcement read, “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Mohammed Shami as Jasprit Bumrah’s replacement in India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad. Shami has reached Australia and will link up with the squad in Brisbane ahead of the warm-up matches.”
As Ravindra Jadeja and Deepak Chahar were also ruled out after injury and BCCI has now announced replacement for the backup replacement.

“Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur have been named as backups and will travel to Australia shortly,” the announcement read.
Absence of Jasprit Bumrah and its effects
In the recently concluded Asia Cup, Team India was kicked out early in the tournament and the major reason was weakness in defending totals. Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar were absent in that tournament as well due to the injury but cricket lovers had hoped that India will perform better with Bumrah in the teams.
