IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans, who won the first match by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League, has suffered a major setback. Star top-order batsman Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the entire IPL session due to injury.
His exclusion has been confirmed by Gujarat Giants through an official tweet.
“We regret to announce, Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the TATA IPL 2023, after sustaining an injury in the season opener against Chennai Super Kings. We wish our Titan a speedy recovery and hope for his early return,” Gujarat Titans tweeted.
Vikram Solanki, Gujarat Titans’ Director of Cricket, said in a statement, “It is sad to lose Kane Williamson due to injury so early in the tournament. We wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully, he will see him again in the field very soon.
In the opening match of IPL 2023, Kane Williamson was injured in the 13th over while trying to save a six at the boundary line.
