New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) batting stalwart Virat Kohli returned as the captain for the side in place of Faf du Plessis. While batting first, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis gave RCB a cracking start against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali.

48th IPL fifty for Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli also completed his 48th Indian Premier League (IPL) fifty against PBKS. With this, Kohli added another feather to his cap at the Mohali as he became the first player in IPL history who has scored 30+ runs 100 times in the cash-rich league.

Players with most 30+ scores

Punjab Kings regular captain Shikhar Dhawan is in the 2nd position with a 91-30+ score. He is followed by Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner. The southpaw has scored 90 times 30+. Rohit Sharma is in 4th position, followed by former Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK)  star Suresh Raina. The Mumbai Indians captain has 30 + 37 times under his name, whereas Raina has reached this figure 77 times.

Earlier in the game, Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) skipper Sam Curran won the toss and decided to bowl first against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
