New Delhi: The IPL 2023 season started with a bang with the match being played between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings in Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Titans won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Chennai Super Kings scored 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad played brilliant innings of 92 runs.

In the first match of IPL 2023, Chennai opening pair Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad initiated the play, where Conway was bowled by Mohammed Shami after scoring only 1 run. After this, a partnership of 36 runs was seen between Gaikwad and Moin Ali. Ambati Raydu, Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja did not score much but Shivam Dubey (19 runs) and MS Dhoni (14 runs) played beneficial knocks at the end.
