Following Harmanpreet Kaur’s swashbuckling innings against UP Warriorz in the WPL, the Indian skipper was heard talking about a unique conversation with the umpires following the win. Mumbai Indians became the first WPL team to book themselves a berth into the WPL knockout stages. Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 95 runs in the chase of 192 runs proved to be crucial for the defending champions.

Alongside opener Yastika Bhatia, who contributed significantly with 49 runs off 36 balls, Harmanpreet played a crucial role in successfully chasing down Gujarat’s formidable total of 190/7.

Indeed, Harmanpreet’s power-hitting during the clash against Giants was so remarkable that even the match referee had to inspect her bat, as the MI captain seemingly disclosed in the post-match interaction.

Harmanpreet disclosed that she had used her practice bat during the match for its better grip, but the match referee still examined her bat following her destructive innings against the Giants.

When a fellow anchor humorously expressed interest in taking Harmanpreet’s bat for herself, the MI captain revealed that the match referee had indeed inspected her bat.

Harmanpreet Kaur unleashed a barrage of attacks on the Giants bowlers. After being given a chance on 40, she switched to ‘beast mode’, going on a rampage of boundary hitting. Teaming up with Amelia Kerr, she forged an impressive partnership, amassing a remarkable 93 runs for the fourth wicket in just 38 balls.

Her ferocious assault on off-spinner Sneh Rana during the 18th over, where she amassed 24 runs, notably eased Mumbai’s path to victory. With Harmanpreet leading the charge, the Mumbai Indians surged to the top of the league table with 10 points.
