New Delhi: It is considered very auspicious to blow conch in any worship. It is believed that the deities love the sound of conch shell and being pleased with it, the Lord fulfills all the wishes of the devotees. According to Vastu, blowing conch shell removes the negative energy from the surrounding. Keeping a conch in the north-east direction brings happiness in the house. According to the Puranas, the conch shell is one of the 14 gems that came out of the churning of the ocean. Conch is very dear to Lord Vishnu. Therefore, there is definitely a conch shell in the worship of Lord Shri Narayan.
Why conch shell is considered necessary in worship?
Since ancient times, our sages and sages have been using conch shell in worship, sadhna or yagya. Any worship is considered successful and complete only after blowing the conch. According to beliefs, blowing conch shell brings blessings of God and fulfillment of wishes. The sound emanating from the conch removes all obstacles and defects. It is believed that in the house where there is a conch, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi showers there. Keeping and playing the conch shell in the south direction in the house of worship is considered very auspicious. By blowing the conch in the morning and evening, the house is protected from evil eyes.
Worship of conch is necessary
After bringing a new conch in the house, first of all, keep it in a clean vessel and clean it thoroughly with water. After this, conch is anointed with raw cow’s milk and Gangajal. Now wipe the conch with a clean cloth and worship it with sandalwood, flowers and incense. Pray to Lord Vishnu and Mata Lakshmi and request with folded hands that they should reside in this conch. To get auspicious results, it should be played every day only after worshiping the conch in the same way.
