This day is considered very sacred in the Hindu religion. On the day of Mahashivaratri, along with worship, people also keep fast. It is said that rock salt or white salt should not be consumed in this fast like other fasts (MahaShivratri Vrat).

Milk with Makhana Recipe

You can consume recipes made of milk and makhana during Mahashivratri fast. It doesn’t require too many ingredients. For this, half a kilogram of milk, 2 cups of butter, 2-2 teaspoons of sugar, and desi ghee will be required. With the help of these ingredients, you will be able to easily prepare Makhana Kheer.

Makhana Kheer Recipe

  • Heat desi ghee in a pan.
  • Fry the butter in this stirring continuously.
  • Otherwise, the makhanas can also burn.
  • After roasting, take it out in a plate and let it cool.
  • Keep a vessel on the gas and heat milk in it.
  • After this, crush the makhanas and put them in milk.
  • Add sugar along with it and stir.
  • Now cook all these well on low flame.
  • Cook it till it thickens and then turn off the gas.
