Dal Bukhara Recipe: Ingredients
Whole urad dal 1 cup, fresh cream 3 tbsp, tomato paste 1 cup, ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp, ghee 2 tbsp, butter- 1 tbsp, red chili powder- 1 tsp, coriander powder- 2 tsp, garam masala- 1 tsp, Cumin – 1/2 tsp, Bay leaf – 1, Turmeric – 1/4 tsp, Salt – as per taste
Method
To make Dal Bukhara, first you have to take whole urad dal. After that clean it thoroughly and then wash it. After this keep it soaked for at least four hours. After this, take a pressure cooker and then add soaked lentils and water as needed. Also add salt and turmeric to it and keep it for boiling. When the dal is cooked, take it out of the cooker and then mash it well.
After this, put 2 tablespoons of ghee in each pan and keep it on medium flame to heat. Then when the ghee becomes hot and melts, add cumin seeds to it and when the cumin starts to crackle, add bay leaves and ginger-garlic paste and fry for a few seconds.
Then add tomato paste to it and let it cook while stirring with the help of a ladle. After this, mix red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric in it and fry it. Then when it is fried well, add boiled lentils to it and add salt, cover it and let it cook well.
After this, add fresh cream and butter to it and mix. Now your delicious Dal Bukhara is ready. Take it out in a serving bowl and serve garnished with cream.
