Basant Panchami: Saraswati Puja is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the month of Magha, which is usually in late January or February. Saraswati is considered as the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, music, art, and science. It is widely celebrated in north India especially in West Bengal and Bihar. This day marks the beginning of the festival of colours Holi.  So delve into colour and wisdom. The charm of Saraswati Puja is doubled as the combination of devotion with patriotism is rarely seen. DO’S  on BASANT PANCHAMI

  • Wake up early preferably Brahma muhurta – 3.30 to 5.30 am
  • Put up yellow attire and worship Maa Saraswati on shubh muhurat
  • Offer Maa Saraswati white and yellow flowers as white is the favourite colour of Maa Sharda
  • Offer yellow sweats, Malpuaa, Bunia, Ladoo, Berry, carot as Prasad to Mata
  • Place your books, pens, musical instruments near the idol of Maa Saraswati for blessings
  • Meditate and thank the goddess for everything you have received in life accompanied by the Saraswati mantra
  • Offer water to lord sun
  • Good time for new beginnings
  • Help the needy and feed poor
