Rava Upma Recipe: Everyone wants to eat something in the morning for breakfast, which will make his/her whole day go well. On the other hand, breakfast in the morning is such a breakfast that people eat it very happily. Keeping this in mind, here is the recipe for Rava Upma, which is not only tasty to eat but also very healthy. Even everyone can eat this comfortably from children to the elderly. 

Rava Upma: Ingredients

  • 1 cup – Rava (semolina)
  • 1 tsp – chana dal
  • 1 tsp – Urad Dal
  • 1 tsp – chana dal
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped – tomato
  • 1/2 tsp – grated ginger
  • 3 tbsp – chopped carrots
  • 2 tbsp – green peas
  • 3 tbsp – capsicum chopped
  • 7-8- Fried cashews
  • 1/4 cup – of curry leaves
  • 1 pinch – Asafoetida
  • 2- Green chilli
  • 2-3 tbsp – Green coriander leaves
  • 1/2- lemon
  • 1 tbsp – desi ghee
  • 2 tbsp – oil
  • Salt according to taste

Method 

  • First, cut finely pieces of onion, tomato, green chilli, carrot, capsicum and green coriander leaves.
  • Then heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a thick-bottomed pan and after the ghee melts, add Rava and fry for some time.
  • While roasting keeps stirring the semolina with the help of a spoon and after roasting the semolina take it out on a plate.
  • Then put 2 tbsp oil in the pan and heat it on medium flame and add mustard seeds to it.
  • When the mustard starts crackling, add asafoetida, curry leaves, urad dal, and chana dal and fry them all.
  • Fry them till the colour of the lentils turns light brown.
  • After that add chopped onion, green chilli and grated ginger and mix it.
  • Tell me, fry the onion till it turns light pink.
  • Then add chopped carrots, peas, capsicum and tomatoes to this mixture and let it cook.
  • Cook these ingredients well for 2-3 minutes and then add one and a half cup of water to the mixture and leave it to boil.
  • When the water starts boiling, put roasted semolina in it and squeeze half a lemon over it.
  • Then with the help of a spoon, mix the semolina well and cook for 2 minutes while stirring.
  • After that cover the pan and let the Rava upma cook on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • During this, keep stirring the upma with a spoon in between and then turn off the gas and leave the upma like this for 10 minutes so that it can set.

The tasty Rava Upma is ready, serve it hot.
