Delhi Police had registered two FIRs
The Delhi Police had on April 28 registered two FIRs against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on the basis of complaints by six adult wrestlers and a minor. Delhi police booked him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Kapil Sibal had presented arguments on behalf of the wrestlers in the Supreme Court. He had asked if this is a new India’, where the POCSO Act and immediate arrest apply only to accused other than Singh.
Khap panchayats warned government
Khap panchayats and farmer leaders have given an ultimatum to the government to arrest Singh by June 9, failing which there will be ‘Andolan’ at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. On the other hand, Brij Bhushan Singh has postponed the mega rally which was scheduled to be held in Ayodhya.
