Weather report, 27 December: As Delhi-NCR regions reel under severe cold wave, the India Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted that such conditions will continue over the next 48 hours. December is now at its last stop. There is severe cold wave in entire North India including Delhi-NCR. Outbreak of cold wave continues in many places including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of cold wind rains in many areas of North India today. While many areas of South India are expected to rain even today.

In fact, it has been raining with snowfall in the higher reaches of the Himalayas for the past several days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of snowfall along with rain in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next few days. In the hilly areas, the temperature has dropped to near zero or even below that means in minus. Due to the cold in many places, even the water has frozen. Due to which people are facing a lot of problems.

Meanwhile, due to the cold winds blowing from the hilly areas, the cold has further increased in the plains of North India. The condition of cold is such that people are avoiding leaving their homes even during the day. In many states including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, the temperature is falling rapidly. Due to this, the difficulties of the people are increasing continuously.

Along with the cold, fog and fog have also affected the normal life. Due to mist and fog, visibility in many places has reached near zero in the morning. Due to which traffic is getting affected a lot. Long distance trains are also being hit the most by the fog. Trains are also getting delayed due to fog. Due to this the passengers had to face problems.

According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, dense fog may occur in parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi today. Light snowfall may occur in Jammu Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Light to moderate snowfall is possible in Arunachal Pradesh.

Cold wave is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand, Saurashtra and Kutch. On the other hand, light to moderate rains are expected in many areas of Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, South Coast of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
