New Delhi: The much-awaited G20 Summit begins today at Bharat Mandapam. PM Modi arrived at the venue and was welcomed by MEA S. Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval. The Prime Minister thereupon welcomed all the world leaders at the venue. He personally greeted all the dignitaries but what caught the eyeballs at the event was a couple.

Yes, a couple! The G20 Summit which is said to be the biggest global diplomatic event happening in India witnessed some sweet and amusing moments. While leaders like Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak, Joko Widodo, Sergey Lavrov, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Cyril Ramaphosa, and Yoon Suk Yeol arrived at Bharat Mandapam all alone, it was Brazilian President Luiz Inacio who came with his first lady Rosângela da Silva at the venue.

The couple held hand in hand as it walked to meet PM Narendra Modi. They kept looking at each other quite often, especially the first lady of Brazil. As a son-in-law of India, it was quite expected from Rishi Sunak who has also come to Delhi with his wife Akshata Murthy but to the surprise of the viewers it was the Brazilian leader at G20 who didn’t miss giving couple-goals at the event.

Rosângela da Silva is the third wife of the Brazilian President whom he married in 2022. Rosângela is 20 years younger than the president.

However, she didn’t stop for the photo session and walked as the formal photography of the Indian PM and Brazilian President took place.

India is hosting the G20 Summit this year and its presidency theme is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means the world is our family. “One Earth, One Family, One Future is the global roadmap for sustainable development”, said President Draupadi Murmu as she welcomed the delegates of G20 nations, guest countries, and international organizations participating in the 18th G20 Summit that is being held in New Delhi.

Notably, the G20 is a group of the world’s 20 big countries that was formed after the Asian financial crisis in 1999. The 18th G20 Summit will hold discussions on the climate crisis, Ukraine and Russia, and other global issues along with numerous bilateral issues.
