The political storm in Uttar Pradesh seems relentless. On Friday, Sonam Kinnar, who held the rank of a Minister of State, resigned from her position. However, the government has not yet accepted her resignation. Sonam Kinnar had met with the Governor recently, which led to speculation about her potential resignation. She had previously left the Samajwadi Party to join the BJP.

Sonam Kinnar’s Allegations
Sonam Kinnar has stated that since no one was taking responsibility for the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, she would take it upon herself. She mentioned that she would now focus on working within the organization rather than the government, asserting that the organization is more important than the government. She accused officials in the government of ignoring the party workers’ concerns. It’s worth noting that Sonam Kinnar has always been vocal against bureaucratic practices and has consistently opposed the bulldozer actions of the Yogi government.
The Yogi government appointed Sonam Kinnar as the Vice-Chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh Transgender Welfare Board (Uttar Pradesh Kinnar Welfare Board). Sonam’s full name is Kinnar Sonam Chishti, and she is reportedly from Ajmer. For several years, Sonam has been working to secure equal status for transgender individuals in society and is also involved in various social activities. Before joining the BJP, Sonam was associated with the Samajwadi Party.
