UP Shocker: Student Commits Suicide After Not Qualifying JEE Mains – ‘I Could Not Fulfil Your Dreams…’

An 18-year-old student, died by suicide after failing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

An 18-year-old girl, student of JEE, allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself in her hostel room on Wednesday, said police, adding that she took the extreme step after failing JEE exams.

Police said she also left a suicide note in which she mentioned, “Sorry, Mummy, Papa, forgive me… I could not do it. This was the end of our relationship. Don’t cry; you guys gave me a lot of love. I could not fulfil your dreams. Please take care of Choti, and she will definitely fulfil your dreams. Your beloved daughter, Aditi.”

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Aditi, who hailed from Sant Kabir Nagar in Uttar Pradesh. She was taking JEE coaching classes in Gorakhpur and resided at a hostel with a roommate. She was preparing for JEE for the past two years.

On Wednesday, she had a conversation with her parents after she came to know that she wasn’t able to pass the JEE exam, said police, adding that the investigation also revealed that she asked her parents to recharge her mobile, but they refused.

Later, when her roommate left for some work, she allegedly ended her life by hanging herself. When her roommate returned and she didn’t open the door despite multiple knocks, she somehow managed to peep inside and was shocked to find her hanging. Subsequently, cops were alerted, and her body was sent for a post-mortem and Further investigation.
