New Delhi: A case has been registered against a BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh for spreading false news about the ‘killing’ of Bihar migrant workers in Tamil Nadu on Social Media.
An editor of a newspaper and owner of a local daily has also been booked in FIR for spreading enmity. As per information, a police team has been formed to arrest both of them, said an official.
Sharing a Photo of Tejashwi Yadav with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Prashanth umrah tweeted, “12 migrants from Bihar were hung to death in Tamil Nadu for Speaking Hindi”. he is a BJP’s UP unit spokesperson.
He further wrote, Despite attacks on migrants labourer from Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav attended the birthday celebration of Stalin.
The Tamilnadu Police has charged Prashanth for forming enmity between the people based on language and region. It has also registered a case against the editor of Dainik Bhaskar in a separate case.
After a senior police official denied the claim of ‘killing’ Migrant workers, BJP’s spokesperson deleted the tweet.
Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister gave a statement in the state Assembly and denied any killing of Migrant labourers.
