New Delhi: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has reached Mumbai. He is on a three-day visit to India. Guterres arrived in Mumbai late at night. He was welcomed by Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj.
This is the first visit of Guterres to India post the initiation of his second term. His term began in January. He had last made a visit to India in October 2018 during his first active tenure at the United Nations.

Guterres to stay in India till Sept 20
Giving information about his visit, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the UN chief will be visiting India from September 18 to 20. During this time he will meet Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar.
Paid tribute to victims of 26/11
Antonio Guterres paid tribute to the victims of 26/11 terror attack at Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai today. He will also deliver a speech at IIT Mumbai on the topic ’75 Years of India: United Nations-India Partnership: Strengthening South-South Cooperation’.

Antonio Guterres will visit Gujarat on 20 October. Where he will attend the launch event of Mission Life booklet, logo and its tagline at Ekta Nagar in Kevadiya. PM Modi will also be with him in this program. The Ministry of External Affairs also told that apart from this, he can also bow to Sardar Patel by reaching the Statue of Unity. Here he can also visit Modhera.
