Tragic: Ceiling Grille Collapse Claims Two Lives In Greater Noida Mall

The incident sparked panic among the mall visitors, prompting the arrival of senior police officers and personnel at the scene.

Two people were killed and several others injured when a ceiling grille fell into the lobby of the Blue Sapphire Mall in Greater Noida today. The victims, identified as Harendra Bhati and Shakeel, both aged 35, died instantly from the impact.

Both the men were from Ghaziabad. The incident sparked panic among the mall visitors, prompting the arrival of senior police officers and personnel at the scene. The bodies have been taken for post-mortem examination. Additional DCP Hridesh Kathariya provided a brief statement to the media, explaining that the iron grille fell from the fifth floor of the mall.

The DCP stated that the two victims were heading towards the escalator when the grille, which was used for fencing, unexpectedly fell, resulting in their immediate demise. He further mentioned that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.
