On Friday, at approximately 5.55 pm, a disturbing incident occurred at Halan village under the Manugam police station. During the setting up of a tent by 34RR, where ten workers were present, three unidentified terrorists (two FT and one LT) launched an attack. As food was being taken for five casual soldiers, the terrorists hurled a grenade and began firing from a distance of about 100 km away from the tent site. Tragically, this act of violence resulted in the martyrdom of three soldiers, namely:

  1. HC Babulal
  2. Siti Wasim Ahmed
  3. Siti Sachin

Additionally, two other individuals were injured in the attack:

  1. Nayak Subedar Satish (in critical condition)
  2. Unidentified individual (in stable condition)

During the attack, the terrorists managed to snatch four AK-47 rifles from the personnel present before making their escape. The situation has left the authorities and the community deeply shocked and concerned about the safety and security in the region.
