Telangana: 2 Killed, 5 Injured As Granite-Carrying Vehicle Overturns On Kodad National Highway

The incident occurred when a mini-truck, transporting large slabs of polished granite from Guvvalagudem, flipped over. The broken pieces of granite slabs caused severe bleeding injuries to the deceased, which killed them on the spot.

Telangana: In a tragic incident, two people were killed and five others injured after a granite-carrying vehicle overturned on the Kodad National Highway in Mudigonda of Khammam district on Friday. The incident occurred when a mini-truck, transporting large slabs of polished granite from Guvvalagudem, flipped over. The broken pieces of granite slabs caused severe bleeding injuries to the deceased, which killed them on the spot.
The bodies have been shifted to the Post Mortem Examination (PME) centre for further proceedings. A case has been registered by the police. The deceased have been identified as labourers, 35-year-old Veeranna and 28-year-old Hussain.The accident was attributed to overspeeding and the failure of a wheel bolt.

What Did Police Say?

ANI quoted Sub-inspector of Mudigonda police station who stated, “Today morning around 8:20 am, a granite-carrying vehicle overturned on the Kodad National Highway. Two workers died on the spot after granites fell on them, and five others were injured and shifted to the hospital for treatment. The bodies have been shifted to the Post Mortem Examination (PME) centre.”
