According to reports, continuous rainfalls have caused water leakage in the main dome of the Taj Mahal, severely flooding one of its gardens. The situation underscores the urgent need for efficient water management to protect heritage sites like the Taj Mahal.
Agra, like other states, is currently grappling with severe waterlogging as a result of heavy downpours over the past three days. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has carried out a thorough inspection of the dome using drone cameras.

IMD Issues Weather Advisory For Severe Rainfall
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has previously issued a weather advisory, cautioning the citizens of severe to heavy rainfall in different parts of UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi, and MP. Reports suggest that the downpour results from a cyclonic depression developing over Central India and advancing towards the northeast.
According to the reports, schools will remain closed until further notice due to harsh weather conditions.
The heavy rainfall in the city has also led to waterlogging across several neighborhoods, affecting a major national route and nearby crops.
