New Delhi: The Supreme Court Tuesday dismissed the plea filed by the Tamil Nadu government challeging a verdict of Madras High Court that allowed Rashtriya Samajsevak Sangh (RSS) to take out route march in the state. A bench consisting of Justices V Ramasubramanian and Pankaj Mithal quashed the plea permitting RSS to carry out the march on rescheduled dates. On February 10, the Madras High Court had ruled that the procession by the RSS could go on despite the state government pleading that there is a possible threat of attack by the banned Islamist organisation Popular Front of India (PFI). After which, the Tamil Nadu government moved the apex court.
